How profiles are verified
Every profile in the directory is reviewed by a person before it goes public. This page explains exactly what we check, what we ask the companion to provide, and what verification does and does not guarantee.
What 'verified' means here
When you see a green Verified badge on a profile, it means a member of our trust & safety team has manually compared a government-issued photo ID against a live selfie taken by the same person within the last 30 days. The two had to clearly be the same human, with the ID document showing a date of birth that confirms the person is at least 18 years old.
The badge does not mean we have run a criminal background check, vouched for the person's behaviour, or guaranteed any aspect of how a meeting will go. It means the person in the photos is real, is the person you'll meet, and is an adult.
What we check
Every verified profile passes through the same review steps:
- Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's licence, or national ID card) — front and back where applicable.
- A live selfie taken in the last 30 days, holding the ID next to the face. Photos taken from a screen are rejected.
- Cross-checking the face in the ID and selfie against the profile photos for clear identity match.
- Date of birth on the ID confirming the person is at least 18.
- Manual review by a human reviewer — never an algorithmic auto-approval.
What we never check
We do not run criminal background checks. We do not verify the truthfulness of biographical claims (occupation, hobbies, etc.) on a profile. We do not vouch for any specific service, behaviour, or claim about how a meeting will go.
The verification badge is a floor, not a ceiling. It means the photos are real and the person is an adult. Everything above that floor — screening, etiquette, choice of venue — is the responsibility of both sides of every booking. Our editorial guides cover those parts in depth.
Verification turnaround
First verification typically completes within 24 hours of submission. Re-verifications (which we ask for every six months on active profiles) are usually faster. If your verification is taking longer than 48 hours, our team is reviewing edge cases manually rather than auto-rejecting.
If a verified profile turns out not to be
Verification fails sometimes. People share accounts. Photos get reused. If you've met someone whose verified profile turned out to be misleading, we want to know. Reports go to our trust & safety team within 24 hours; profiles are de-listed pending review. The report flow is at /safety/report.
