Stone Oak

Stone Oak, the upper-north residential corridor along Highway 281 past Loop 1604, is one of the two locals' upper-tier residential bases (Alamo Heights is the other). Most independents who own homes in San Antonio rather than renting closer to downtown live somewhere in this corridor or the surrounding North Central side. Incall to a private residence is more common here than anywhere else in the city.

For visiting clients, Stone Oak is a poor base, the drive into the downtown loop runs 25-35 minutes depending on traffic, and the surrounding hotels (mostly business chains around the Hill Country medical complex) aren't built for the long-evening format. For locals who already live in the corridor, it's the home market.
